Ashtead Horticultural Society was founded in 1875 and is thought to be one of the oldest Societies in Ashtead. It is a community based organisation run by elected volunteers for the benefit of its members and the community. Our main aim is to support an environment which is as sociable and friendly as possible.
The Society offers a programme of evening talks with guest speakers, 2 flower shows, an annual visit to a national garden, a coffee morning with sale of plants and cakes, summer walk to members’ gardens, and a  newsletter as well as discounts for members at many local shops.
We have over 500 members who have an interest in gardening and plants. Some have large gardens, others small and some no
gardens at all. We are not a group of experts; our knowledge is wide and varied. What we do have in common is an interest horticulture and in learning more about it.
